Again in 1998, the home was completely remodeled. The central a/c unit of the newer section is hooked up to the left bedroom as this is the only room in the old part which was still occupied when the new section was built. The remaining rooms and bedrooms of the old section are on a separate a/c unit.
In the new wing, the bar cabinet has antique leaded glass doors which came from the Seifert family. The back wall of the bar uses cedar reclaimed from one of the original beams of the house. The bar top and front of the bar are also cedar from these original beams, with the bar top layered with multiple coats of epoxy to seal and protect the wood. The fireplace in the den is a working fireplace, but it is currently using gas logs. The upper parts of the windows in the master bedroom are made of antique leaded glass.
In the older section of the house, all the floors are original restored broad plank wood. The wainscoting of these rooms remains as they were built. When the home was remodeled in 1998, all the layers of paint were carefully scraped from these areas and there is only one coat of paint on them. The ceilings are 16 feet tall in most rooms of the older section and have crown molding throughout. Two of the original bedrooms had a fireplace between them which is now non-functioning. The original mantel remains in the left bedroom and gas lines are attached to it. There is also a pass through set of doors between these two rooms which has shelving for linen storage. The bathroom serving these bedrooms was added on in the 30s or 40s and was remodeled in 1998 to include a shower and claw footed tub. There is also another nonfunctioning fireplace that is between the living room and the main dining room which has a gas line connected to it. The third bedroom was converted from a storage room to the master bedroom, closet, and bath The rooms in the old section had no closets originally, and those were added in 1953 when the current owners moved in. The front porch of the old section is the original porch while the side porch was added in 1969 with the new wing, and the original back porch torn down and rebuilt in 1998 during remodeling.
