Location and Tract Description: The Barnes Family Tract (Tract # X35) is located approximately 2 miles northeast of the town of Kingsland, west of the Saline River bottoms. The property is generally described as +/-118 acres in Sections 29, 30 and 31, Township 9 South, Range 11 West, Cleveland County, Arkansas.
The tract is a generally flat upland pine site with primarily silt loam and fine sandy loam soils and an average site index for loblolly pine of 80 feet (Base Age 50), as reported by the NCSS Web Soil Survey and also presents a good site quality for hardwood timber as well. The tract has good access with frontage on gravel public road - Huntley Road.

Most of the timber was removed in 2007. The tract presently contains scattered juvenile hardwood and hardwood pulpwood trees. The vegetation offers good cover and food sources for wildlife species. Several nice deer and a group of wild turkeys were seen and photographed during the site inspection. This tract could make a great hunting location or could be site prepared and planted for timber investment.

Research Parcel InformationThe tract can be accessed from two directions. (1) From the Kingsland School, travel about 1.25 miles NE on highway 79 to Huntley Road. Take a left (North) on Huntley Road and follow the road for about 1.5 miles to a hunting camp. The road splits the southern portion of the tract just west of the hunting camp and fronts the western boundary of the tract. (2) From Kingsland, travel north on Crossroads Road for about 3.5 miles to the Crossroads Cemetery. Take a right (east) on Sims Road and go about 1.5 miles to the intersection with Huntley Road. Go right (south) on Huntley Road and follow the road for about 1.7 miles to the northwest corner of the tract.
