These large hardwoods also make excellent roosting sites for the large numbers of turkey on the ranch. Away from the lower areas, some areas have thick mesquite brush with others having been sprayed to enhance the heavy grasses. Quail hunting is excellent in this area of North Texas and with the excellent blend of mesquite, native grasses, plum thickets, and water sources, the Little Wichita Ranch is a quail hunters paradise.
