Merchantable Timber: Kingwood Forestry conducted a 5% inventory of merchantable timber with one 1/10th acre plot per two acres, four cruise lines running north and south. There are two creeks on tract, so harvestable timber acres and timber volumes may change if SMZs (streamside management zones) are established. Based on the cruise conducted by Kingwood Forestry Services in May, 2013, estimated tree counts and volumes are as follows:
Red Oak Sawtimber: 1,440 Trees; 426,600 Board Feet; 3,192 Tons
White Oak Sawtimber: 120 Trees; 41,800 Board Feet; 292 Tons
Gum Sawtimber: 1,360 Trees; 261,400 Board Feet; 1,974 Tons
Misc. Sawtimber: 480 Trees; 60,300 Board Feet; 458 Tons
Cypress Sawtimber: 140 Trees; 34,900 Board Feet; 263 Tons
Hardwood Pulpwood: 6,080 Trees; 2,912 Tons
Due to variations in cruising methods, utilization standards and scaling practices, volume estimates cannot be guaranteed. Volume tables in tons are included; Board Feet tables are available upon request. Red Oak sawtimber averages 20.6" dbh and 296 BF / tree.
