Tract #112 will be sold by lump sum sealed bid on Friday, Oct. 17, 2008, at 3:00pm. Located eleven miles east of Gurdon, and about seven miles southwest of Sparkman. Terrain is rolling. Access is via logging road from Waller Road (gate from Vaden Road can be opened with “5757” combination). 2005 plantation was site prepared using aerial spray of 48 oz/ac Chopper and 32 oz/ac Razor Pro, followed by a prescribed burn. Weyerhaeuser 2nd generation loblolly seedlings were used. After planting, pine seedlings were aerial sprayed with 5 oz/ac Arsenal and 1 oz/ac Oust for herbaceous weed control. About four acres total of hardwood SMZ in the southwest and southeast corners of tract. SMZ contains an estimated 59 tons of hardwood sawtimber plus 27 tons of hardwood pulpwood. Soils consist of sandy loams with site index for loblolly pine averaging 80 feet on fifty year base.
