LOCATION: The ranch is located in Chaves County, New Mexico between the two major New Mexico towns of Roswell and Portales (home of Eastern New Mexico University). There are several miles of frontage on Hwy. 70 and the ranch is bisected for a number of miles by County Road 38 through the north part of the ranch. Older wells are thought to produce from approximately 100 to 200 feet deep and newer wells are thought to be drilled approximately 950 feet deep with the water rising to around 300 feet with pumps set around 400 feet.
COMMENTS: The Triple Bar S Ranch is a year-round cattle ranch suitable for running a cow/calf operation or starting light yearlings in December, wintering on cake and grass and then summering the cattle or a combination of both.
Southeastern New Mexico is probably one of the most favorable areas in the state to run livestock due to the mild climate and low maintenance cost per animal.
