Good Hunting Undeveloped - All Wooded
Don't let this slip by. Twenty acres off Rt. 360 just south of Keysville about 10 minutes and about 40 minutes to South Boston. A mixture of growing hardwood timber makes great feeding grounds for the wildlife. A small creek runs through the property with quite possibly a pond site and providing a good water source for the wildlife. The property is in a rural setting in the countryside of Charlotte Co. The parcel is rolling with some level areas making a good home site. Good hunting for white tail deer and turkeys. So if you're looking for your own parcel of dirt this is a great investment.
Charlotte County was formed from neighboring Lunenburg County in 1764 and named for Queen Charlotte, wife of George III of England. Settlement of this new frontier began approximately 50 years before the county was formed.
Charlotte County was the second governing...
Charlotte County was the second governing body in the 13 colonies to declare its independence from England. As the American revolutionary spirit unfolded, these people of newly acquired wealth and influence played important roles in the formation of the government. Its militia units helped to halt the advance of Cornwallis in 1781 and to hasten the end of the American Revolution.
The village of Charlotte Court House has been listed with the state and National Registers of Historic Places as an Historic Courthouse District for its uniqueness in architecture, business and government buildings. The rich heritage of old homes is architecturally significant as they reflect the styles from the Colonial and Georgian to the Federal and Greek Revival periods.
Charlotte County is rich with history. Patrick Henry retired to Red Hill in Charlotte County and he is laid to rest there. Patric Henry (May 29, 1736 June 6, 1799) was an American attorney, planter and politician who became known as an orator during the movement for independence in Virginia. A Founding Father, he served as the first and sixth post-colonial Governor of Virginia, from 1776 to 1779 and from 1784 to 1786.
