The lot is part of the White Rock Estate Subdivision with the land directly west being National Forest. This means there will be no building sites to obstruct views of the beautiful meadow and wildlife that roam through the area. The owners have done a lot of work improving the area by trimming all the trees around the buildings to 10 feet and removed the brush and shrubs for fire prevention. This in itself has greatly improved the view and ability to see wildlife in their natural habitat. Access to the cabin has been made easy by the removal of trees; deadfall and brush, and then fill dirt has been brought in to elevate the driveway and cabin site. Rock was placed over the fill dirt to complete the driveway and cabin site.
The cabin is fully furnished, with the wall construction being 2 X 6” with 6” insulation, windows and doors are a high “R” rating. All sheathing, inside and out is ½” OSB for wind and structural strength. Roof Trusses are built to with stand 60 LB / Sq Ft snow load with Steel Roof. The Attic is ventilated and has 12” of insulation. All this makes for a well built cabin that is warm and cozy when needed.
Solar Panels are included on the roof that easily provides all the power for the lights and indoor water pump. There are propane lights that can be used as back up for emergencies. There is an indoor, 35 gal water holding tank and a 10 gal hot water tank for showers. The cabin includes a propane refrigerator and stove. Both floors have a 30,000 BTU heater which is more than enough to heat the rooms even on the coldest of days. There is a 500 gallon septic tank for the indoor toilet. The entire second floor has nine beds and a beautiful view of the meadow.
The front deck is covered, which allows for a great place to relax, enjoy the mountain scenery and abundance of wildlife (Moose, elk, deer, coyotes, fox, ferrets, ducks, hummingbirds, sand hill cranes, etc). In the meadow, the beaver dam and pond, with year round water, keeps the wildlife coming into the area daily. There is an outstanding moose presence in the area with moose wandering within 10 ft of the decks and up the driveway.
The garage is the perfect size to house the outdoor enthusiast’s snowmobiles in the winter and four-wheelers in the summer with additional storage area for needed equipment. The 6000 watt generator is permanently housed in the garage and used to power the 220 V well that fills the water storage tanks.
All the work that has been used in the building of this cabin is to provide a rock solid, strong, practical, easy to maintain Get-Away site. With very minimal effort, the owners will be able to open and close this cabin at any time of the year. Access to the Cabin is through Forest Service.
