Yellow poplar and mixed oak of timber size dominates the northwest-facing hillside immediately above CR 8. Research Parcel InformationFrom WV Route 16 in Pleasant Hill drive east on Calhoun County Route 16/7 2.1 miles to its end. At the intersection with Calhoun County Route 8 (Slab Fork Road) and (Cherry Fork) CR 8/10 turn left and drive up the valley. In about a quarter mile CR 8 crosses a large culvert fording the creek. The property begins on the right a few hundred feet up the valley from the culvert. The property runs along CR 8 for 700+ feet. The property frontage on Laurel Creek and CR 8 ends at the mouth of a small hollow that intersects on the right less than a quarter mile upstream from the large culvert. A flat area between CR 8 and Laurel Creek could be ideal place to park a camper during hunting season. A gas well is located about 150 downstream from northwesternmost property corner. Flagging and a for sale sign at the mouth of a small hollow on the right marks the end of the property. For self-guided property visits follow directions and measure travel distances as closely as possible. This is an easy area to become misdirected and lost.
