This step back in time, when life was more simple and furniture and fixtures truly were built to last, doesn’t begin to do justice to the character and quality of the complete inventory of the Hobbs Drug Store.
As all good Drug stores of that day, it is complete with a lighted, mirror back bar that always seemed to background the soda fountain. The oak and glass display cases are well stocked with the household items of the early to mid 1900’s. The porcelain pulls clearly mark the contents of each drawer. The oak and glass ice box was that special place many locals remember. It was an amazing place that displayed the candies which were such a treat. The original 48” round tables made of oak and twisted steel legs, with matching chairs still provide their intended use and now add that special flavor of days gone by. One must stop by, spend time exploring and reminisce of days gone by………but certainly not forgotten! Today Hobbs Drug Store is host to scheduled and catered special events and meetings. The store contains two levels. The first level is 2000+ /- sq. ft. consists of an office and kitchen area in the rear of the building. The upper level has 600+/= sq. ft. and is accessed by a winding staircase with rod iron railing.
