The property has gently rolling terrain, with elevations ranging from 1280 ft at the back to 1320 ft at the highest point where the house is located. The habitat consists mainly of Spanish oaks, ash junipers, and open grassland sections. Turnips are planted in the fall to provide for white-tail deer.

Pillar Vista Ranch is home to a diverse array of wildlife, including White-tailed Deer, turkey, and hogs. It also hosts various other desirable game species, such as doves and various small game.
