There are over 300 acres of Walk-In public hunting area to the east of the tract and over 400 acres in the Bashaw and Terri Wildlife Management Area’s to the south and west. The Little Cottonwood River flows just west of this property and provides a great travel corridor for wildlife for several miles extending both east and west. The current habitat on the RIM acres is made up of primarily native grasses with some cattails in the low-lying areas. There is a small stock dam just off the road which holds water most of the year, creating the potential for some duck hunting. The southern edge of the RIM acres has patches of thick willow trees. This is going to be a popular bedding area for deer throughout the year especially with all of the public hunting areas nearby. On the 40 acres left out of the RIM program, the current owner has a corn food plot and multiple other areas which have been tilled and prepped for fall food plots if desired. While I walked this property, I saw numerous mourning doves; because of the makeup of the reclaimed gravel pit and plentiful water, this will be a hot spot of dove hunting.
