The main living area consists of a great room featuring a stone fireplace and a skylight that lets natural light flood in. You will also witness built-in cabinetry and bookcases perfect for extra storage.

An open loft addition was built in 2010 that overlooks the great room and is equipped with multiple twin-sized Murphy beds that latch up and out of the way to create more space when the beds are not in use. A second bedroom upstairs features two queen size beds.

For those that are looking for sustainable living, this cabin offers solar energy provided from an 11-solar panel system that was renovated with 6-volt batteries.  There is also an Onan backup generator, propane stove, and propane heaters. The site is provided water through a community water system for $50 per month and has its own private septic system. Despite being remote, the home does have broadband internet and satellite television available.

The large deck on the exterior of the home is a great place to enjoy the breathtaking mountain views, observe wildlife, or to host barbecues.  The yard surrounding the cabin contains low maintenance landscaping and a fully automatic sprinkler system. The grounds also include a 10ft x 45ft storage shed that allows plenty of room for storing tools and small equipment.

The platted lot leased from the Forest Service is 1.38 acres, however the permit covers approximately 0.50 acres for the home owner’s use.  The acreage is located near the Grandjean Campground, which offers a multitude of recreational opportunities such as hiking, swimming, fishing, and snowmobiling.  It is also within a mile of the historic Sawtooth Lodge, hot springs, and the shores of the Payette River.

The cabin lies 26 miles beyond the mountain community of Lowman, Idaho near the Sawtooth Wilderness Area.  Located just 75 miles north of Boise along the Ponderosa Pine Scenic Byway, many people find Lowman the perfect destination for a summer home or weekend getaway. This small town is tucked away in the heart of the Boise National Forest, along the north bank of the South Fork of the Payette River in Central Idaho.   The South Fork of the Payette River boasts some of the best whitewater rafting available in Idaho. The town of Lowman, Idaho is itself home to geothermal activity, boasting several natural hot springs throughout the area, including some right in the middle of the community. Residents of the Lowman area enjoy convenient access to hunting, fishing, hiking, and rafting. Big game hunters will find elk, deer, wolf, and cougar hunting available in the immediate vicinity.
