Located along the Continental Divide just north of Divide, Montana, Curly Gulch Ranch is a big game hunters paradise and fishermans dream.
This ranch is one of the most epic elk hunting properties to hit the market in years. Curly Gulch Ranch possesses many acres of excellent native grasses for feed and sprinkler irrigation. The deep ravines and heavy timbered slopes on the ranch provide the perfect cover for Rocky Mountain Elk. This area not only provides sanctuary during the year, it is also an annual calving ground for the resident herd. The property is further enhanced by the over three-mile long boundary it shares with the National Forest.
With two homes, a large shop, horse barn and storage shed, it offers many options for a recreational property and operating ranch.

At the base of the Highland Mountains, Curly Gulch Ranch offers incredible views of the surrounding mountain ranges, with a particularly stunning view of Mount Fleecer. The ranch is located almost directly on the Continental Divide, the drainage divide of North America that separates the water drainage of both oceans.
The makeup of Curly Gulch Ranch includes alpine timbered slopes, sprinkler irrigated hay ground and native range. Over half the ranch is composed of timbered slopes that reach high up on the Highland Mountains and overlook the valley floor. Many coulees and ravines run out of the mountains and almost every one contains a spring or creek, accentuating its Montana alpine feel. Just below the timber lies a 100 acre pivot that produces an annual hay crop or can be left for excellent irrigated pasture. The rest of Curly Gulch consists of native range, providing excellent grass for livestock and wildlife.
Buildings
The improvements on Curly Gulch Ranch are tastefully done. The owners residence is a beautiful 3 BR, 2 BA, 2,900-square-foot home located above a very nice horse barn at the base of the mountain. In 2009, a managers home was built with four bedrooms and two full bathrooms. This home is 1,256 square feet on the main floor with the same square footage in the fully finished basement. A 4,800-square-foot shop was added in 2008, and a 100 x 70 storage shed with open sides was added in 2009.
Fishing
Four stocked trout ponds were recently put in, further adding to the bountiful recreation opportunities on the property. Curly Creek runs through the ranch and is full of hungry brook trout.
Located just 7 miles from the ranch is the famed Big Hole River, one of Montanas most sought after blue ribbon streams. Other rivers in the area include the Beaverhead, Ruby, Madison and Jefferson, putting the ranch smack dab in the middle of fly fishing country.
Location
This area is steeped in ranching, mining, frontier and Lewis and Clark history. A person could spend a lifetime seeing historical sites and museums.
