This large tract of Montana is home to several large game species throughout the year, such as mule deer and Rocky Mountain elk. Native sage grouse are common in the spring, summer and fall with several breeding grounds in the area. Dyce Creek Ranch is located a stones throw from the Pioneer Mountains and the vast Forest Service land that is available to the public. The recreational opportunities on these lands are endless. The Dyce Creek Ranch lies approximately 21 miles east of Dillon, Montana just off MT Highway 278. Dillon is a historically significant town in Southwest Montana located on the banks of the Beaverhead River. A town of 5,000 people, Dillon boasts a new hospital with a state-of-the-art medical facility and top-notch trauma center. The University of Montana Western brings a diverse and vibrant feel to the community that is unique to a small Montana town. The Dillon airport is a paved runway long enough to handle most private aircraft and offers a full FBO. Nearby cities of Idaho Falls, Bozeman and Butte offer commercial air service. Dillon is home to grocery stores, restaurants, a brewery, several bank chains, a Patagonia clothing store, coffee shops, excellent public schools and many other ranches and businesses that make it an active and engaged community.

The area is rich with history. A trip through Bannack and the Grasshopper Valley, through the Big Hole Valley over to Wise River and Divide gives you a good look at what Lewis and Clark saw all those years ago. One can get a feel for the plight of the Nez Perce people at the Big Hole Battlefield monument. Dont forget the Henry Plummer Gang and the Gold Rush in Bannack.
