Matt joins Mock Ranches after an extensive career in the oil and gas industry. During that time, he was fortunate to travel the country and interact with persons of all backgrounds. On the side Matt has enjoyed searching for and buying properties all over Texas. This passion has allowed him to work through many stages of land conservation, improvements and affiliations including the NRCS, USDA and Lost Pines Habitat Conservation. He currently manages a small herd of Santa Gertrudis from direct King Ranch lineage on these properties. He enjoys making continuous improvements on his properties and can most often be found mulching on his skid steer or pushing brush with the dozer. Matt earned his Bachelor degree in Business from Southwestern University while also playing baseball those four years. During his Junior year he interned with the Houston Astros where he met his now wife Amanda. They bought a raw piece of land in Paige Texas in 2015 and built their dream home. They have a 5-year-old son Mason, a Catahoula pup named Mia and a German Shorthair named Bailey. The family are adamant Astros fans and have been season ticket holders for the last few years. With their free time they enjoy hunting, taking rides on the ranger and swimming.
