140 acres of rolling hardwoods on the Huron River with a solid, log hunting camp. This is one of my favorite recreation properties. It has everything you could want for hunting, fishing, timber, riverfront, a nice camp, good road access, great recreation area, and all at a reasonable and affordable price. The acreage is mostly a thinned, but mature hardwood stand that has 1/2 mile of County Road frontage and just under 1000 feet of Huron River frontage. The acreage is currently in the Qualified Forest program with an active management plan underway. It has had a recent thinning and timber stand improvement. Internal roads were built as well as several food plot locations. The owner has planted trees and taken action to improve the habitat and food sources. This has always been a good hunting area, and now this property is underway to being a top notch hunting habitat. Nestled on the nort...

Nestled on the northern edge of the Huron Mountains, you are in the travel corridor for migrating whitetail. This stretch of Huron River is just upstream from the slow sand bottom water where the river bed transitions into gravel and stone and the current is steady to quick. Salmon and steelhead are rich through this stretch in the fall and spring respectively. Rainbow trout can be caught throughout the year. The picture don't do the scene justice, but one visit will. You own both sides of the river with a trail that you can cross it on with and ATV. The camp is small, simple and solid. It rests on a high ridge with views over the river surrounded by beautiful hardwoods. There are two bunk rooms and a loft, a kitchen area, and an awesome wood stove as the center piece. There is a hand pump point well with cold, clear water. An outhouse and sauna round out the amenities. You could access this property year round with a short plow up the internal drive. Tap the maples for syrup and get ready for the steelhead run. Several large elevated blinds are in place with food plot location established for deer season. The pictures of the buck tract are on a hard gravel road in the middle of the acreage, proving the positive results of the land improvements. The property is an easy drive from L'Anse on paved roads, or through Big Bay on woods roads. The mouth of the Huron is just down the road as well as Witz's marine where you can launch a boat for access to Huron Bay. These kinds of opportunities are rare and I don't expect this to be available through the summer.
