The canal water is great for irrigating a garden. The well on the property was drilled in the late 1930s and comes out of the ground at about 120 degrees. Wildlife, birds of prey, and a variety of migratory birds are frequently spotted on the property. In fact, it is a birdwatcher's paradise with quail, hawks, pelicans, herons, ducks, geese, and dove.About The Area:Located in Bruneau, Idaho, an agricultural community that is nestled between Bruneau Dunes State Park and the CJ Strike Reservoir. This small town is located approximately 19 miles from Grandview, Idaho and 20 miles from Mountain Home, Idaho. The city of Mountain Home offers many of the shopping and entertainment conveniences of a larger city but still has a small-town feel. Local events celebrated in Mountain Home include the Crazee Dayz Celebration & Carnival, Annual Garden Tour, Elmore County Fair & Rodeo and concerts or movies in the park. This area is also where the Mountain Home Air Force Base resides. Bruneau is situated in Owyhee County, the second largest county in Idaho, and is just shy of an hour drive from the capitol city of Boise. Besides its agricultural industry, Owyhee County is a playground for outdoor recreationalists. For those that love to fish, there are several areas to go cast a line. Popular fishing spots include the nearby Snake River, the Owyhee River, and CJ Strike Reservoir. In addition to fishing, additional recreational opportunities include boating, camping, swimming, hiking, and more. For those that love the thrill of ATVing, Owyhee County has an extensive trail system with hundreds of miles of public trails. For the avid hunter, seasonal hunting opportunities for deer, elk, upland bird, geese and duck hunting are available through Idaho Department of Fish & Game’s Unit 41.
