The Colorado River is the ranch's west border and there is approx. 400 ft of river frontage. River area is lined with towering cottonwoods, elms, live oaks, post oaks and pecan trees. This is a natural wildlife habitat and great hunting for whitetail deer, feral hogs, turkey and dove. If fishing is your thing there is an area to put in boats or kayaks. Water levels in this stretch of the river are benefitted by being north of the Renfro Dam, which backs up water and aids in a more constant water level. The Renfro Dam is a sandstone dam rebuilt in the early 1920s and was used to power a grist mill and cotton gin in years gone by. This dam withstood the great flood in 1936 and remains intact to this day.

Area Attraction:

The Regency Bridge is the last suspension bridge open to automobile traffic in the state of Texas. The original bridge collapsed in 1903 under the weight of a herd of cattle killing a boy, his horse, and numerous head of cattle. It was then rebuilt and washed away by a major flood in 1936. In 1997 the one lane, wooden deck bridge was restored with a dedication ceremony attended by then-Governor George Bush. The bridge is high above the Colorado River connecting Mills and San Saba County. It is an impressive sight to see.
