The ranch has gently rolling terrain consisting of approximately 60% brush and 40% open pastureland. Trails traverse the property through beautiful tall Oaks, thick native brush, and pastures offering good access to numerous hunting blinds and feeders. The dense high protein brush provides excellent cover and forage for the wildlife on the ranch.

Three small ponds on the property serve as a constant and convenient water source for the wildlife on the ranch. A half-mile tributary of wet weather Williams Creek flows through a picturesque wooded ravine on the property during the rainy season. City water is provided to the property via Prairie Hill Water Supply.

A 2,300 square foot metal barndominium constructed in 2008, with an addition added in 2014, serves as the main lodge for the Southern Cross Ranch. It has two bedrooms and two bathrooms, as well as a loft, kitchen, and large living area. A covered patio at the rear of the lodge features an outdoor entertaining area with a hot tub. There is also a 1,000 square foot metal carport and a metal storage container.
