DESCRIPTION: Wood Canyon is three (3) miles long and one (1) mile wide. It is rugged with high rim rock and lots of smaller draws feeding into it. There is dense growth of many different kinds of trees and bushes in the canyon and smaller draws such as; mesquite, cedar, mountain laurel, live oak, shin oak, persimmon, blue and red berry cedar and other. The dense forage and grasses are a natural habitat for various kinds of wildlife. There are not neighboring easements through the ranch and the property is surrounded by other larger ranches. Elevation ranches from about 1900 to 2200 feet. The road is good in the bottom of the canyon but will need a four wheel drive to top out. For the road to the top of the canyon a Dune buggy or four wheeler, or ranger is needed. Hunting can begin almost as soon as one is off the paved road. It appears one is in a wilderness far removed from civilization. It is similar to the Pecos river property just a couple of miles away.
IMPROVEMENTS: Wood Canyon is totally fenced and it has electricity, water and a deer camp. The camp site consists of an older mobile home, located about a quarter of a mile up the canyon,
WATER: There are two windmill water wells and tanks. One is located just inside the property with a set of pens and corrals and the other one toward the end of the canyon. The water is of good quality, and potable in the well up the canyon.
NEIGHBORS: There are no small ranches bordering this ranch.
GAME: The ranch is a hunters paradise with an excellent whitetail deer herd, dove, quail, turkey, javalina hogs and an occasional mountain lion.
