A Hunter's Dream
40.6 acres of heavy wooded land known as the "Deer Crossing". Coming from the Leon River to the north and headed south along Holmsley Creek which is a wet weather creek.
Numerous local hunter's have shot some big deer when they have been allowed to hunt this place. Derreck shot a nice 10 point and a Bobcat the same day. Same owner since 1958 and has not been grazed and only lightly hunted all this time.
It is located just outside the western city limits of Gustine (population 457)and is bordered by one land owner on two sides that does not allow hunting. And no, the city does not plan to annex it into the city limits.

At the present time there is not a "real" entrance into the property because the 'horn' was removed years ago. Mother Nature has taken over and it is now over grown. Lot's of wild plum bushes and we know that deer love wild plums. We don't even have a road to drive around on. Perhaps a 4 wheeler or by foot.
Some of the bigest Live Oaks and Post Oaks I've seen and the Red Oaks a beautiful as well. The old homestead is falling down, an old hand dug well somewhere yet to be found and an old concrete cellar. Electric runs the length of the property so that would be easy. Water is about 100 to 160 feet deep, so a well would be easy also.
Take a look at the pictures and give us a call to go see it.
